Privacy Policy

Effective February 27, 2026Last updated February 27, 2026

The short version

We collect only what we need to make Time to Eat work β€” your account info, the Tables you create, and a push notification token. We never sell your data. SMS messages are sent from your own phone, not our servers. You can delete your account anytime.

Time to Eat (β€œwe,” β€œus,” or β€œour”) is operated by Clearly. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Time to Eat mobile application and website at gettimetoeat.com (collectively, the β€œService”).

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect the information provided by your authentication method:

  • Email address β€” from email, Google, or Apple sign-in
  • Display name β€” as provided by you or your sign-in provider
  • Profile photo URL β€” if provided by Google or Apple (optional)

App Usage Data

  • Tables β€” names, emoji selections, and member lists you create
  • Pings β€” timestamps of when you notify your Table members
  • Reactions β€” quick reactions you send in response to pings
  • Streaks β€” your consecutive days of eating together
  • Notification preferences β€” your chosen sound and alert settings

Device Information

  • Push notification token β€” a device identifier used to deliver ping notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). This is not your phone number.
  • Platform β€” iOS or Android, used for app compatibility and notification delivery

Phone Numbers (SMS Members)

When you add someone to a Table via their phone number, that number is stored in your Table's member list so you can send them SMS pings. Important: SMS messages are composed and sent directly from your device using your phone's native messaging app. We do not send SMS messages from our servers, and we do not have access to the content of those messages.

Website Analytics

Our website (gettimetoeat.com) uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as page views, referral sources, and device type. This data is aggregated and cannot identify individual users. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate the Service and deliver ping notifications to your Table members
  • To maintain your eating streaks and activity history
  • To manage your subscription and account settings
  • To send you important account-related communications (e.g., security alerts, service changes)
  • To improve the Service, diagnose technical issues, and fix bugs

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following third-party services to operate Time to Eat:

  • Firebase by Google β€” authentication, database (Cloud Firestore), push notifications (FCM), and analytics. Firebase Privacy Policy
  • RevenueCat β€” subscription and in-app purchase management. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
  • Apple App Store / Google Play β€” payment processing for subscriptions. Payments are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your payment card details.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore with security rules that restrict access to authenticated and authorized users only. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security). Data at rest in Firestore is encrypted by Google's infrastructure by default.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. When you delete your account:

  • Your profile, Tables, pings, and reactions are permanently deleted from our database
  • Your push notification token is invalidated
  • Some anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained for service improvement
  • If you have an active subscription, it must be canceled separately through your app store

6. Children's Privacy

Time to Eat is designed for families but is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at [email protected] and we will promptly delete it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Minor changes may be posted here without notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

9. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be resolved in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
